Oil pan "crack" would you run this?

Bottom end was built before I got the bike.  Filled it with oil and had a leak from the gasket where the bolt had caught it.  When changing it have spotted this.  Would you run it or replace? Its never been run with this so dont know if it leaks.

I can't be sure, but those don't look like cracks to me.  It looks like surface imperfections left over from the molding/casting process.  You can find lots of those lines on all of the cast aluminum parts on these engines.

That was my first thought, but they have corresponding marks on inside and outside that make me think cracks

I agree, casting marks. To be sure though you could set the pan up on some blocks over a drip pan and fill it with gas. The gas is thinner than oil and will drip through if they are cracks. Might take overnight to confirm.

Its a really good idea, except I just filled the bike with oil.  Its got papertowel underneath it to check for oil leaks like last time, but this time I put the gasket in properly. Will keep an eye on leaks from there anyway.

Those marks are not cracks.  They are simply casting marks as confirmed by others in this thread.  Move on to other things to worry about.  Have you adjusted the valves lately?
