I've got a 750 zephyr engine in my 650 F1 since 1995  or so....when I did the conversion I made it completely zephyr,carbs,electrics.
Then around 6 years ago I put a ZR 7 engine in a GPZ 750,but kept the old ignition and put Z 1000 J(my favourite payable carbs)on,and it's way more fun to ride.So finally last year I built an 810 motor, put that in the 650,with 80's electrics and 1000 J carbs, ran great but horrible oil consumption,so took that out,put the zephyr motor back in and it's fun!
So if you own a zephyr 750,and your local clean air regulations allow it,put in an 80's cable loom and ignition ,mikuni 34 mm carbs(maybe the keihins frm the 1st 750's too),750 airbox and have way mor fun:)
cheers,andy

What contributed to the oil consumption?  I currently am riding a 810/650 and it was down a quart the other day and I am hunting for the cause.

    thanks.
