That makes sense. Here - you spend on parts more than you spend on bike. 650 I got for $800 already $1500 according to my log. And it's not running yet I just got all consumables and new electronic ignition for it.

kzstreetfighter71 wrote: On anther note, My engineer mate says that there is a way of fixing the crank, cases are junk,,, but i also have a spare head... so when the crank if sorted ill have a crank, head, maybe a frame.. and a full injection system, loom, front end and back end bar the wheels... maybe a whole other bike someday? fingers crossed. Im going to bite the bullet and start a build thread on Sunday when i can get photos uploaded.
We are lucky here in the USA because there are a few good crank guys around. They can press apart the assembly and replace any pieces and bearings that need refreshing. It's not cheap, but the crank will be as good or better than new when done.

Then make a new one and press it in, return the whole piece to the engineering firm that will repress it into the crank and balance the whole. If all goes to plan. It will cost nearly as much as buying one but the 18mm 1984 Gpz1100 crank is like gold dust over here.

I wont tell you what my budjet for my 75 Z1b is but its the price of a fairly nice bike just in parts from Japan... and the cases are still split in half. ah wellkatit wrote:

Well this bike has been any eye opener that's for sure, as soon as i know more from Scirocco of what he has i might just take you up on the offer, especially in the engine and bodywork department if you have any. Thanks Ac4

ac4 wrote: The pictures of Sciroco's bike look good.I have 3 registered 1100Ut's,one has an 1100 B2 bored out to 1200 engine.I also have aB2 with a UT engine, and sometime will build another.I'll keep the engines I have ,but do have lots of bodywork. Most of the bodywork I have will need painting. You said your's is a1984,so should be an A2,with the inner faring, bigger (longer) fork yokes(and therefore frame at the front),and if the original exhaust is fitted,no kawasaki badges on the exhaust, and 2 bolt fittings for the silencers.

From what i can see ,from what Sciroco is selling me ill have the Makings of 2 non original uni tracks, mine has ZZr 1100 running gear and im going to use a Carb set up, then for Sciroco's i have a spare head and cams, just a few pieces need finding. then on the long burn ill build an original bike as stock as i can make her soon as i can source an engine. These will keep me sorted for a while on top of the 81 gpz1100b iv sourced about 70% of the parts for and the 79 z1000st im converting to a chain drive and Mrk2 body work... It will be a long summer.
