Ok its looking minimum $1500 with shipping up to $2000 to do a welded crank.Damn man I can buy a rebuilt engine for 5, but I understand craftsmanship costs $$.I have to chew on this for a minute. I feel like I can buy the engine Z1KZonly has for sale and have a whole lot more for my money and chance having a problem later with a non welded crank. It seems the age and unknowns of these parts are what make them all "IFFY" now.Does the trike need a welded crank ? Or do I need to get over my poor mans thoughts and do it right the first time?

Hey Shank, I'm working on a price quote for the checking and welding. Shipping is tough! But we are not too far away SE MI. to Buffalo, NY. If this was a street ridden beater bike, I'm sure the crank is straight. It's an old "Pork Chop" 900 crank correct?

Shank, My guy Jim Mangus stopped doing cranks. He refers people to Stanley Gardner up in Maine. Index and weld with new thrust bearing, Stan says they all usually need the thrust bearing. He charges $1250. This consists of separating all the pieces to clean all oils on the pins, for welding.
My opinion, I would just use a milled main bearing cap with the tool steel plate along with some APE case studs.
Or a MarkII or GPZ crank with bigger pins.
But if you plan on that turbo in the future? About 25-30 pounds of boost will start twisting that crank.
Dragbikes launching a hot sticky slick at about 8-9 grand from a dead stop will twist that crank. A slider clutch helps a little.
