Sometimes if carbs sit for years, it will take a little while for them to get back into functioning condition. Little bits of corrosion or whatever may affect how the floats work until it gets some use.

I do hope that is the case. It had little use the previous 5 years so I expected to run a few tanks of fuel through it, and oil changes, to see where it gets me. Maybe now after three fills I will add a half dose of Techron. Just prior to the next filter change maybe a dose of sea foam in the case? I would like to get to May and the scalding summer before any maintenance that takes me off the road.
