Earlier this week I picked up a KZ440-B1, and within those 3 short days with it, I bought another KZ, a KZ650 CSR.
I love cruising on the 650, I'm a new rider and this is my first good running bike, only downside is that I noticed its pretty quiet. Now, I don't want it screaming loud, but loud enough to hear it while in a car would be nice.
So how would I go about making it a little louder? Is it hard to remove the baffles on it, or the packing? I have spare Harley Sportster oem mufflers, should I attempt to put those on, or just buy a different exhaust all together? Mainly looking for the cheapest way I can, but willing to spend money if needed.
Thanks for the help.

A Norton anthology. Nice to see some quality reading material at yourr house, Martin.martin_csr wrote: You could drill holes into the muffler end caps. Choose a drill bit that matches an available plug size, in case you change your mind or something. The muffler in the pic was already drilled, but I re-drilled the holes & tapped some threads for some 1/4" brass plugs. I don't know how the system sounded without the plugs.

Exactly! Punching holes in an otherwise decent stock KZ650 exhaust is a mistake. Ed

Just an FYI if you plan on selling it. The KZ650-CSR & KZ750H Ltd have the exact same muffler system, and it can probably be used on a number of other 650/750 models but a guy may need to fab muffler brackets.
