I'm not 100% certain about this but since nobody replayed to you yet I can tell you :
As far as I know all kz 750 and 700 share the same engine also , I believe Kz 650 does too.
Not the cylinders (obviously) but I'm sure the starter is the same.
All the best

Thanks for the replies. It's a little bit of work to change out the starter clutch so I want to make sure I do it right

The clutch cover gasket showed up first and it was wrong, then the sprag came next and was also wrong. I looked everything up again but by vin # this time and sure enough all the parts had different part #'s. Not sure how or why that happened, but know that I think I have the correct part numbers so I will try to cross reference them.

Take a look at the link below to see if that is the one for your bike. It isn't a ZN model, but it does list the shaft drive. Ed

The KZ700 is a chain drive, so it won't be the same as the ZN700. The model lookup page lists an Ltd Shaft but doesn't specify which one it is. In the link you provided, he could simply change KZ to ZN. That's what I did below.

Oooops! You are correct. What confused me was the words "Shaft, Drive" and "Shaft Output" for the first two part numbers in the "Transmission" drawing. However, looking more closely shows those do not refer to a shaft drive bike. Ed

It seems to only work when you are on the main page for a particular bike. That is the page with all the fiche thumbnails. Once you are in a particular part page (like the exhaust system fiche, or the ignition system fiche) you have to back out to change the model.
Somewhere, we should have a sticky with all of the Kz models with year and letter-number designation, with marketing name, like "Ltd" etc., and maybe a short description of what makes that model unique so it can be identified easily. Once you have that list, it's easy to find models on the kawasaki site. As it is now, you have to know that when they list Gpz, they might only show the listing for the 550 Gpz, but you might need a 750 or 1100 gpz. So you'd have to know to enter the model and year into the address bar. If you don't know the designators, you would be out of luck.
The 550's are pretty easy, and I have them listed somewhere. I also have most 400's and many 650/750's. I'll see if I can start putting together something. I guess it would only be U.S. models. It's difficult to get non-U.S. information.
