The damper springs are on the back side of the clutch housing. I don't think they are available separately.

The 92081-1115 damper springs reside in the hub on the left, per image below:

Kawasaki clearly shows 18 springs in the shaft drive clutch, besides the ones in the housing.

APE sells a hub rebuild kit for the earlier steel hubs (pre-J), but says nothing about the later or shaft drive clutches.

My bad. I was going by the link the the clutch assembly posted above. You shafties get all of the neat stuff. OR is it that you really got the shaft? LOL

BTW< I don't get the function of those "damper springs". Is it to make the clutch release faster? I find sets like that in automatic transmissions, but see them for piston return (disengage clutch faster) in the clutch packs mainly. Several pictured below. Where's waldo?

Both spring sets must provide some calculated pressure which helps the clutch operate smoothly.

The six Barnett clutch springs exert 10-12 percent more pressure than 92081-1114 springs, according to Barnett tech-support.
I hope to soon find out...

Used this clutch assembly in place of the worn out one in the motor. It had been sitting in the box since 2008 with a lot less miles, and good hub springs besides.

With all new plates and six Barnett springs, the clutch works better now than any time since I rescued this bike twenty years ago.

Smooth...and the lever pull is easy.

Not to beat a dead horse here Dave, I can't tell from the pic what your 92081-1115 damper springs are dampening? Is it holding in that slipper cog ramp gear thingie inside the hub? ? (new highly technical term!) It almost has to be since there is nothing else they could be dampening. Inquiring minds want to know! :)

This is the hub in my ZX1100:

Nevermind, I found it. I just needed a different view. Upon closer look, the Zx1100 may have the cog gear slipper thingie too, after I noticed the large rivets in the hub. Or maybe not. :)

**Edit
I just looked up a 95 Zx1100, and it appears that it does have the damper cam slipper gear thing too. I'm learning all kinds of goodies from you here Daveo!

I also just looked up the 81 Kz1000 clutch and it does not hat the slipper cam damper cam doohickey. You guys with those really big and powerful bikes get all of the neat stuff. I'm jealous. lol

I tried copying the url from both bikes, but for some reason when I paste it, it is from the same page with the ZX1100 clutch.

That's the worn out hub I replaced, and now the clutch works better.
