I have a 81 H1 LTD 750-4 im rebuilding here and i ran into a bit of a snag. There is a nasty half moon shaped nick in the head halfway through where one of the headgasket rings seats. It's going to need to be decked .01". There's actually quite a few, but only one is right smack over a sealing ring. ... i dont know what the heck the PO of this bike was doing! The valves were lapped to point of .01-.02" gouges in the valves too!

Anyways, I was looking for two things and didn't have any luck online or in the manual.
1. a .030 base gasket for the k750
2. A head thickness measurement from the deck to the valve cover surface. I dont know if this head has been decked already or not. I'm seeing 105.0mm

IIRC the manual has you measure the combustion chamber volume to determine if the head has been decked.

Ah. I could do that! But it doesn't clearly tell me how much it has been decked. I'll have to check out that section in the manual again.

APE does have .016" AL base spacers, so i could use two of those as my base gasket. Its that or two .020 stock gaskets.

Are you running stock pistons? If so i wouldnt worry about a small increase in compression. Check the piston to head clearance that is what’s more critical. if thats good you can check combustion chamber volume and determine what ratio you are at. If that ok looks good I would slap it together and not worry about different gaskets. Metal gaskets are more prone to leaking
