At this point I don't see it matters much.

Thanks to Bill I have a better idea how much this head had been decked. He measured .95mm and I measured .18. That's .77mm difference! I assume the head he is working with is stock or close to it.

Mine

Not as much as this guy

So I've decided to go with what I have as is. I'll polish the one combustion chamber a little more with a wire wheel and clean the mating surface better. The old gasket material left a stain but it's clean where the compression rings in the gasket are. Who knows, I may get back some compression lost with the deck height. B)
If I spend any money on a head it will be the one I take off the bike not this one. This one I'll put on and RIDE THE PISS OUT OF IT. :woohoo:

I'm pretty sure mine is stock. I don't think the engine has ever been opened until now.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Good Morning Steve! Did you ever determine the final piston TDC to deck height on all 4? Cylinder not fully seated or possible usage of J pistons.

It was a rough measurement while I had the head off. They're Wiseco K1015 pistons. It's possible the barrels may have shifted. This time I'll take the pistons off and clean them in the sink, use the best sleeves I have then measure the deck height.
