One of the risks with installing inserts is if they are installed crooked, which is easy to do.

The tool Patton discribe is very helpful, but if a lot of aluminum is riped out only a Time-sert will cure the prob.
Pattons tool only reform the threads without any cut off aluminum.
BTW, where can i buy this the reverse threading tool??? I am a must have tool junkie!!!

I think I need to try myself first :)
It’s not quick to to deliver the bike to workshop.

What equipment are workshop using when you are not taking off the top?
1981 KZ650-D4, with 1981 z750L engine (Wiensco 810 big bore).

Today I received the Wurth timecert kit, and I installed one insert in the cylinder 2, and from my understanding the results is good, no leak and the bike running fine....
