Had to do some work with the clutch and got to turning the Clutch Drive (i believe thats what it is at least) and noticed i can turn by hand maybe an 1/8th of a turn before it "hits" anything, is this normal?

I don't understand what you're turning. Are you talking about the clutch release adjusting screw?

The diagrams at Partzilla are handy for stuff like this.

Sorry i wrote clutch drive because that was all i could find as to what it was but its the splined rod that the clutch "cage" slides onto if that helps any.

If you are talking about the free play back and forth, that is probably normal.

Perhaps a picture would help clarify matters. Also, the proper names of things can be found in the factory service manual, and in the parts diagrams at Kawasaki.com and Partzilla.

With just the clutch basket fitted so you can see the shaft end. If you rock the basket back and forth can you see any play on the shaft? I suspect you are seeing normal gearbox play.
