I’m looking into upgrade my exhaust, I want it black, 4 to 1.

By searching on the forum I have found two options.

1. Delkevic
2. Kerker

What is the differens? Or is there more options? I want quality I can have for many years and the paint looks good after years.

I hear nothing but good thinks about the Delkevic exhausts. They are stainless so the “should” provide many years of service. The only complaint I hear is the headers hang down really low.
I bought a brand new Kerker system for my 750 (because I got it half price) and it is so poorly made that I cannot reccomend one.
The welds are terrible and full of pinholes and the paint started flaking off after 15 minutes of light use. The header paint was so crazed that I ended up having it blasted off.
I did not feel bad at all about cutting up the exhaust to change the sweep of muffler. It is also made out of ultra thin tubing which makes it insanely light, but makes it very susceptible to damage from just minor contact such as removing the exhaust from the bike.
Older Kerkers seem to have superior build quality so maybe look for one of those.

You can see the pin holes in the welds and the crazed and flaking paint.

Maybe a Marving? They make a model with a flat collector that will retain ground clearance.

On all my bikes (Z1r GPZ1100 and FJ1200) I have Marving systems, I manage to (not easy) remove the sump screw with the pipe on. On the FJ 1200 there were some issues with the fit of the headers including my own but the Z'ds work ok. There are two types of tail pipes (I have both) the street and racing. For good power the racing is without doubt the best and its not too load, the sound is incredible. The street pipe is extremely quiet and is down on power by a few horses.
The Flare pipe is street and the other racing. The flare pipe in picture is actually from the Z1R which sweeps up more for some reason on the GPZ
I might add I've had lots of pipes on the Z1r but the racing is without doubt the best sounding and power pipe I've had.

First Permanent ride the Z1R since Dec1977 (220,000km) as of June 2015
Second permanent bike 1989 FJ1200 dyno'd 140RWH, great bike.
Third ride is now the Frankenstein 1981 GPZ1100B1, 1983 fully recon motor fitted LOVE THIS BIKE
Forth my work bike FJ1200 1989 (same type as FJ above)

Some background information, my existing exhaust is working fines, but I have problem to ge t the paint to be nice for longer time...
What I have figure out I can send the exhaust to sand blasting and ceramic coating these shal make a look who shall be good for many years...

or I can by a new exhaust system....

Will I get better performance with a new one ? ... why shall I choice a new one... ?

A option is to purchase a new Delkevic system and delivered it to the painter for ceramic coating...
I want to have black finish ....

What do you think ?

You find it stupid to use so much money on a old exhaust, better to purchase a new one and delivery it for ceramic coating?

What about jetting, properly no need?
What about the new sound, compare to what I have now? It’s not to loud?

These frame looks to be identical with mine, the heigh to the ground will not be a problem?

I’ planing to purchase Delkevic system, do I need stainlees steel nuts and studs?m, since the system is not stainless steel?

Colouring according to the INOX-SPECTRAL® process, I don’t know if the person I have found using these technologies, but I have got recommendations to use him for ceramic coating.
