Cam timing was created by Kawasakikid
After market cams. Pics included: Only one line on exhaust cam so I'm good on that sitting parallel with head. Intake cam has 3 dots and when I use those to designate the 28th pin the intake and exhaust cam lobes look 180 degrees opposite of each other. However there is no line on the intake cam to be parallel with head as the service manual says there should be and there is an obvious arrow on the intake cam that isn't in a location that could be parallel with the head or used as the 28th pin locator. The question.... are the 3 dots the 28th pin locator and what might the arrow be for if it doesn't aline with anything when the 3 dots are on the 28th pin? These pics are taken with pistons 1& 4 TDC. Thanks for help brothers!

Sprockets look stock modified with the rubber removed which had the 28 pin mark moulded on so someone has stamped the 3 dots on the actual sprocket to indicate the correct 28 pin location.
Intake arrow should be close to the head when the 3 dots are on the 28th pin.
Arrow is 8 teeth away from the 28 pin mark which is correct.
Be sure you count 28 back from the first pin above the exhaust cam arrow.

Thank you! The cams are from R.C. Engineering who first built the motor in '79. They did not say the the cam sprockets were modified stock ones. Interesting. The arrow on the intake is visible when all is placed properly but I wouldn't say "close" to the head. According to factory shop manual a line on the intake should be parallel with the head just like the exhaust but there isn't one. Thanks again.

Up until we made the Honda adjustable cam sprocket, all there was was modified stockers.

The arrow on your intake sprocket also lines up with the bolt that is farthest away from the other two.
Once timed correctly the arrow and bolt will be close to the surface of the head.
See diagram.
Also due to camchain stretch, varying cylinder deck height and possible head skimming the arrow is rarely exactly in line with the head surface.

Is it just me, or do those sprocket teeth look pretty rough along the edges?
