Also, both “K” stamps are faced towards the front. So I’m really puzzled as to why that rod cap is upside down.

The cases are line bored so the caps have to facing the right way.

Not sure what you mean by, “ line bored” meaning they’re in the right way?

Thanks!

Tell me if I’m wrong but from what I have said/seen, all should be in order. The “K” markings match up and the oil ports are facing the rear. The only thing is that one connecting rod cap is upside down. No sure why, because the oil ports is facing the rear, (and that’s the way it’s supposed to face). The stamp is right. Like it matches up perfectly.

So from all that I assume it’s done, correct?

Thanks for everyone’s input!

Is the lettering on the rod caps all facing the same direction as you view them from one side of the engine? If not you may have one of the rod caps rotated 180 degrees.

That wouldn't be good. They are bored as a set. If reversed they could bind.

If you’re referring to the weight stamps on the engine than yes!

If you’re referring to the lettering on the bottom of the rod caps reading “3 - 49”, than no. :(

Thanks!

My thinking is that if the oil ports on the connecting rod are facing backwards. And all the weight stamps are facing forward. Than it doesn’t matter what the connecting rod caps say. Whether or not the “3 - 49” is facing the same direction as the others, it doesn’t matter does it?

Thanks!

Yes, this is what I was referring too. Those numbers are there when the rods are forged and all lettering should face the same way I think.

Ya think! It cant be! The weight marks all line up! If i switch it right side up the marks won’t line up.

So I don’t know what’s what anymore.

I was talking with a guy from a local Kawasaki dealer, and he said that all that “really” matters is that the notches in the bearings are on the same side opposing each other.

So I’ll go ahead and check that out. While I have the oil pan off.

Thank!
