Hey, I'm doing my first oil change on my first bike but the filter cover wont come off? Which way do I turn the screw? Assuming I'm laying down looking up. I know, I know, lefty loosy, yadda yadda yadda, but it doesn't budge. Am I a moron and its reverse threaded? Is it just stuck?

You turn the bolt for the cover anti clock wise.

Be sure to use a tight six point socket on it. R/H thread. They will be tight after a while. If you need to lay it on it's side to get a better bite or use this do it.

Correct. An alternate perspective...if you are sitting alongside the engine and turning the wrench looking down from the top you need to turn clockwise.

There you go Nessism........ can't remember the torgue specs off hand but I find them to be a good 20 to 25% too tight for me. Done them a hundred times over the years by hand and after finally checking with a wrench I was closer to the looser specs never with a problem.
