It's been awhile. and I never save info.! And don't have any 903 Z1 stock engines anymore.
But will the 77-80 1015cc cylinder ( 2.972" / 75.50mm O.D.) bottom sleeve size. Will block drop into Z1-KZ900 engine cases? Without being bored??
Have a 1015cc block to sell on eBay. Just curious, can't remember back over the years.
5 years ago I had 2 sitting in my back hall.
Sucks getting old!

Some 900 cases will take the 1015 sleeve and some will not.
It's not by much though and the case only needs easing out front and back.
No need to have them bored on a mill etc.
10 mins by hand with half round file or rotary burr will do the trick.

Like zed1015 said, some do some don't. The three sets of Kz900 cases that I put the 1015 cylinder on needed to be relieved so the sleeves did not contact the cases. I did not have to remove much metal from any of them. I used a die grinder and a carbide bit. Once I finished grinding, I ran a .015 thousands feeler gauge around the whole sleeve to make sure none of the sleeves touched the cases. Aluminium expands at a quicker rate than the steel sleeve. I like to make sure there is no chance of the sleeves contacting the cases. Make sure when you check to see if the sleeves don't touch cases you have the two dowel pins that locate the cylinder in place too!!!

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThanks Doc, good info to know, I forgot about the aluminum expanding with heat. All said and done.
I am not doing this now. I listed a 1015cc block on eBay. And I did not want to list that it could fit on to a stock 900 engine.
Of course if someone has engine apart, and knowledge. It is no big deal.
But good to know for future reference. I keep saying I am done with this stuff. But more parts seem to turn up onto the garage floor.
Selling this on ebay:
