I keep the original gasket in place. Potential for the lobes of the cam/cams to hit if not in place. Head to bottom of gasket "I" use Loctite 518. Half-Moons Yamabond. I always set the camshaft end plugs first, using a donor cam cover and let set overnight. Loctite 518 is actually a flange sealant, also use it for engine cases.
