kz750 Twin clutch pushrod was created by Bookem51
1982 Kz750 Twin. After some short runs around a campground the kick start stopped working. By not working I mean it was slipping and not turning the motor over. There was no free play whatsoever in the cable. I took off the adjustment cover and set the clutch as described. The adjustment seemed way out but I set it according to spec. The kick start then worked perfectly. Unfortunately the cable was then impossible to tighten. I then took the clutch adjustment cover off completely and discovered the pushrod was missing. I insisted a small screwdriver and about a 1/2" I hit something solid. I took the other side apart and removed the clutch pack. when I look down that shaft I can see the rounded end of the pushrod. There seems no way to remove the pushrod and it seems shorter than it should be. Has anyone had these break or bend or somehow get stuck in the shaft.

Must be the ball bearing. Don't lose that.

If the clutch push rod was missing, how could you have done the clutch release adjustment? kinda puzzling to me.
I have seen pics of broken clutch push rods, though. Is the bike a 750-CSR?
