Granted, Im new to vintage bikes and Im under 35 but i have a strong opinion.

I started biking last January (2016) and since accumulated 5 bikes. A 72 Honda CB350F, a 73 Honda CB 500F, a 72 Honda CB 750, a 77 Yamaha XS650 and a 77 Kawa KZ750B Twin.

Kawasaki bikes are the best of the lot. I have had or ever ridden a Suzuki, but Kawasakis are amazing.

Now, the question of the hour. my 77 had 10,000 original miles on it, and this thing seems to burn a bit of oil. Is that normal for a twin? NONE of my 4 cyl Hondas burn oil and we've checked the Kawa top to bottom. Compression, valves, timing, gaskets, all are in amazing condition. NO LEAKS ANYWHERE.

So, do your Kawa need topping up of oil every now and then?

The other thing i neglected to do, which is pretty obvious, is put the bike on its center stand on LEVEL ground. I havent done that yet. WIl check tomorrow. Maybe the oil is fine...

Oil level should be checked with the bike on the center stand while parked on level pavement. The oil level will rise when the oil is hot so know that as well if checking after a ride. It's better to check per the manual instructions: cool engine, start the engine and run for a min or so, then shut down and wait another min for the oil to settle.
