Hello,
when i ride, the cerclip of the shift rod (where the 2 small shift forks are placed in the tranny) jump.
I replace it yesterday by a new one, and make a turn, but jump again.
I think it's the shift rod who is tired.
I'm going to replace it tonight and place on it red treadlocker (permatex)
Do you think it will be enought to fix it in place?
The other idea i have is to rebuild the shift rod line .... perhaps with a dremel...
(where the cerclip is)
Any idea, or refexion will be welcome
All the best

It shouldn't move with the cover in place unless something is wrong with it.

I hope you know what you're doing. If you pull the shift rod out too far or all the way, the shift forks will fall down into the oil pan. The 650 manual says not to pull it out more than 40mm.

Hello,
yes i know. The problem is i can't remove the shift rod. It don't come from the tranny side.
I really try, but impossible. It just come 2 or 3 mm after the cerclip and then stop.
(I would like to remove it and replace it by a new one that i have.
Then it will be possible to check the 2small forks too by the oil pan...)

I really don't know much about it, but I think if you pull the shift rod out, you have to split the crankcase to reinstall the shift forks. probably not something you want to do. not unless it's necessary of course.
