PIC . punch mark on camshaft right side

when piston 1 is at TDC of the end of the compression stroke, these marks are perfect matched with the same marks on the camshaft caps.
is this some sort of ''double check'' for the valve timing? manual says nothing about.

1983 kz 550 h
