Engine oil

BTW, I've been reading a fair bit on Bob Is The Oil guy and despite the lower ZDDP levels in todays oils most Oil Analysis Reports come out good. To me this is the bottom line; the oil analysis test will measure how much metal there is in the oil from wear. Low metal means the oil is doing it's job.
Generally speaking, I'm a believer in diesel oil for motorcycles over dedicated motorcycle oil, mostly because I'm a cheapskate. But that V2 oil is much better than your typical motorcycle oil. A lot of high end bike oils have ZDDP levels under 1000 now, but the Brad Penn is something like 1500. Don't think I'd use that Penn oil in a bike with a catalyst though.
BTW, another oil that seems to come up golden on BITOG is Mystik JT8 15W-50. It's a diesel oil with lots of ZDDP and a great price. Two gallon jugs go for about $25 at places like Farm and Fleet.

After looking thru a bunch of recent msds documents from their website (dated 2016-2017),
the only product I saw that listed ZDDP was their GTX diesel engine oil.
A couple of their motorcycle oils have a zinc-phosphate compound that's probably similar to zddp.
Some of their motorcycle oils did not list a zinc-phosphate in the ingredients.
There don't seem to be any conventional GTX oils with zinc-phosphate. All of the Castrol oils I saw have "proprietary performance additives", but there's no telling exactly what those additives are. note: I only looked at 10W-40 & 20W-50 oils.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

ZDDP refers to Zinc dithiophosphate. In other words, Zinc & Phosphorus. All oils have these compounds, it's just a matter of how much.

After doing a little more checking, the other zinc phosphate castrol lists in some of their oils is also classified as ZDDP.
