I know that most use the NGK BR8ES spark plugs. Whats the advantage or disadvantage of running Iridium spark plugs?

Iridium plugs are designed to last for a long time. There are different brands and grades of iridium plugs which vary in durability, so the devils in the details, but the best grades will literally run 100,000 miles in a car. The issue with running them in an old motorcycle is that most are resistor type, and you don't want to run a resistor plug if you are using a resistor type spark plug cap such as came on our bikes. And speaking of spark plug caps, you need to get plugs with the proper top to match with your caps. The OEM resistor caps need plugs with a threaded top, and not all iridium plugs are sold that way.

I bought a set of NGK Iridium IX : BR8EIX plugs for my bike and ran them briefly before realizing they are resistor type so they were removed. If you can use them I'll make you a good deal.

I'm using Dyna S 8mm wires which work with standard plug tips. The BR8ES is a resister plug, right?

With those wires you don't need resistor plugs.
