IF A TURTLE DOESN'T HAVE A SHELL, IS HE HOMELESS OR NAKED?
Alternator Wiring Oil leak 1975 Z1B was created by Buster
Dripping like my old Harley!
Looks like I need to pull the cover and seal it up.
Whats the best fix for this?

This is a fairly common problem. A new grommet will take care of most of the problem. Some guys soak the insulation on the wires just inside the grommet with super glue or some such to keep oil from wicking through to the outside.

Cut off the old grommet from the three wires, cut them under the sprocket cover, fish them through the new one, use crazy glue or similar to seal the web like coverings on the wires where the grommet will sit, slide it into the cover, fill the void on the outside where the wires come out, slide the sheath back on and solder the connections. Put the covers back on.

As I said in other threads on the same subject, I dont think the grommet is as much an issue as the cloth insulation wicking the oil through.
