What bike? All the ones I know about don't have chains.

The KZ440 oil pump is driven by a gear, not a chain. Take another look at the engine; is it marked "KAWASAKI?" Maybe post a picture of the engine and the parts in question. Ed

In the diagrams at Partzilla, I saw these engine chains: one is a balancer chain in the crankshaft diagram, another is for the camshafts & another one in the starter diagram. Edit: and a fourth one mentioned by Kray-Z below, the primary chain in the clutch diagram.

As far as I can figure, in the KZ400 /440 twins, the four internal engine chains are the primary (drive chain from crankshaft to clutch basket), the counter balancer drive chain, the starter motor chain, and the camshaft drive chain...
