Somewhere along the line I must not be holding my mouth right when I installed valve cover gasket... It leaked pretty quick.. Not really sure what's going on.. I've worked on cars forever and never had a problem getting stuff to seal. Everything was clean and I used black ultra permatex on entire gasket surface. I really don't want to have to do this every couple of months

I used axle grease and dabs of ultra copper where the cam plugs are, no leaks.

Finally got valve cover back from chrome guy, valves adjusted and stripped hole heli coiled. Installed valve cover a few minutes ago. This time I'm going to let adhesive set up 24 hours before I start bike up. Really hoping that will keep from leaking

I use cam end plugs out of pure Aluminum, no rubber parts or mix of aluminum and rubber.
Build in with a light coat of liquid gasket and i have never leaks again after a valve clearance check!
Here in Germany cam end plugs are called "half moons".

I'm seriously considering getting those aluminum plugs too. I don't see why those rubber plugs are there in the first place.
Any ideas of the rubber plugs' purpose???
