So my bike is back on the road with a new Wiseco 1075 kit, putting break in miles on it now.
It has a vance and hines 4 into 1 megaphone on it with a rather large baffle installed, no packing.
The louvers of the baffle are in a spiral pattern and I'd like it to be just a little louder.
I had a kz650 with a V&H exhaust and baffle and loved the way it sounded, it had louvers that were stamped in a straight patten.

My question is what baffle do I have and what others are available, are all the megaphone baffles universial fit from the same manufacturer?

Thanks.

Check out the perf baffle on Z1 ent website (1 and 3/4 inch comp baffle) ..... I see its back in stock..... never seen the baffle you have as mine is straight too....... I removed the back plate that covers the 6 holes years ago on my stock baffle and always ran it without packing and it made it considerably louder.....

There are three types. I have the competition one on mine now. I'll get a pic later.

As promised here's some pics. The one you have looks smaller than the stock one I got with my 4/1. They made different models.

Thanks Steve, ya mine looks way smaller.
It's even smaller than the one I had on my 650.
Looks like I'm after the stock or comp baffle.
Is your comp baffle really short?

No, they're all the same. Been thinking on putting the stock one back in without the packing. The bike sounds great but I'm thinking I might get more mid range and better mileage with it. The drag one is way too loud and the top end fell on it's face.

Gotcha, the 650 i just got rid of came with no baffle, bought the stock one and left the packing out.
Sounded great, ran great.

I'll be finishing up my break in miles soon on the 1000, figured I might as well get it sounding like I want before I dial in the jets and needles.

Just need to decide if I want to come off the cash, debit card is still smoking from the rebuild.

If its mainly louder what you want think about removing the backing plate that covers the 6 holes...... forget how I did mine (did it years ago) but maybe you could dremel it off so it could be put back on at a later time if you wish my reg baffle with this removed is defently louder than the comp baffle (both with no packing).

I ended up drilling 4 holes in the baffle plate amd that gave me the extra noise I wanted, had my brother do a ride by, happy with the way it sounds on and off the bike now.

I can weld it up later if I ever wanted to, good to go for now.

Good deal..... glad to hear it .....I like the way it helped mine too.... was surprised when the comp baffle was a little bit quieter but will stick with it now.
