82 GPZ 1100 Clutch Issues

After about a year of looking, I finally found an 82 GPZ 1100 in good condition with a reasonable price tag. So I drove 700km and picked her up. During the first ride I noticed significant clutch slippage (next to no power on revs). The previous owner had proclaimed that he had just had the clutch shimmed, but evidently that is not the case.
So, I took the clutch apart and checked plate thickness; all bang on spec. I went ahead with the degreaser and scotch brite trick to see if residue buildup, etc on the plates was the issue. Topped up with Kawasaki S4 synthetic, and a filter I took it for a spin..... no improvement. Fiddled with the clutch lever adjustment, and nothing either. Are there any other adjustments I'm missing? Owner's manual is in the mail....
Any suggestions for next steps? I'm assuming springs are next on the list....
Thanks
Pete

The final friction plate has a certain orientation?Check if the clutch plates are correctly fitted, the outside fibre plate might be in the wrong slot (not 100% sure this can be done). The previous owner might not have fitted it correctly and obviously there is some adjustment in the lever.
Do not ride with the slip

Be sure there are no notches in the aluminum hub. The last one is a friction plate. The outside pressure plate shouldn't have a ridge on it or cracks.

Success! such an easy fix... previous owner had the pushrod adjusted the wrong direction. Oh well, runs like a charm, thanks!

Pretty common malady here, and always a good thing to check first. Glad it was an easy fix!
