That's the crankcase breather port. either the bike is overfilled with oil or it's building up pressure for some reason.
Lacking the airbox, you should connect tubing to the port & route it behind the engine towards the ground. forward of the swing arm and away from the chain & mufflers.

ps: it helps to mention the year & model.

You may be overfilling your crankcase with oil. To check the oil level the bike must be held level (centerstand woks best) and the oil level should be between the marks on the little window; close to the top mark is fine, but above that is too much. Forgive me if this seems very elementary to you, but there are some folks who way overfill the oil because they don't understand how to do it. Ed

Like Martincsr & 650 ed said , you most likely over filled the crankcase with oil, & like martin mentioned you should run a hose from the breather, like he said, or get a K&M breather filter like the one pictured on my 1980 LTD 1000

The hose that martin_csr was talking about , you would attach to the top of the breather port, but you say you have a breather filter attached to the port, so what port are you talking about , that the oil is coming from ? can you take a picture & circle the port that your talking about

I think I asked this before but I will ask again, do you have a manual? If too much pressure is coming out, it is a sign of problems.

Do you see the little round filter (that is sticking straight up) that is under the carb filters ..... (in the middle of Pete's motor) ..... is that where you are talking?

I got a little and a lot of ribbing from Steve and Patton about using one of these filters in a similar thread and am glad to see your running one Pete.

You say you think you put too much oil in...... put the bike on the stand or have some one hold it level and check the sight glass... if its above the top drain a little till you get it in the middle.......if after you get the level to this point and its still spitting out a lot out of this port like Steve says you have more problems maybe a broken ring or another cause of pressure build up.
