I have a much loved 79 KZ1000e1 and just picked up a 83 KZ1100 shaft project that the frame has been modified. Would like to put the later engine in the earlier frame. Anybody done this or something similar. Any thoughts?

your going to have to customize the engine mounts because the later engine is rubber mounted and the earlier engine is solid mounted.

I've always like the rubber mounts. Mulling over how to do it to my bike.

It can be done with some mods all depends on how much work and fabbing you are willing to do. Here is a 82 GPZ750 with an 82 GPZ1100 engine in it.

Nice looking bike. Great job on swapping engines. You didn't mention the ZRX swingarm.
