Z1R turbo head choices? was created by mrdatsunturbo
I looked at the head before delivery to the machinist and there is also a lot of damaged on treads and also two cam caps broken. This was also in bitses and pieces from PO B)
So i need another head for my 1200cc engine build.what is the best choice for me?
J head with cam tower or a early GPZ head?
Thanks again and i was out riding in Norway today Cold but very nice.pictures was to big today??

For a 1200 turbo you will get away with the early heads if you want although a 'J' or early geep head will work well too.
Being forced induction the smaller runners won't affect cylinder filling like it would on normally aspirated.
We run a 900 head on the Orient Express turbo and that produces over 230hp with 8.2 quarter at 165 mph.

It's a common verbal abbreviation for "Gee Pee Zed" over here in England ;)

How is the bike going to be ridden,Street bike or track bike?
For a turbo motor Id worry more about the exhuast side than the intake. ;)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Turbo,

It is never to late to go start drag racing!

If you are crazy enough to twist up a turbo Z1R on the street....making a pass down the drag strip would be a lot more sane.

I forget the exact RPM for max power and the Dyno sheets are at the shop though i'm sure I mentioned in the build thread I think.
Rev limiter is set at 10.5k for the track though but haven't hit it in 4th 'n' 5th yet.
1075cc MTC pistons.
Stock combustion chambers.
1mm o/s valves.
Minimal clean up on ports, inlet matched to plenum and exhaust polished .
Header diameter = 36mm.
It's pretty much what you would run on the road except for the Megacycle turbo race cams.
My road turbo Z1R is the same spec (right down to the F/F Rajay) except for Unitrack cams to take the edge off.

i was out for shopping today and dont tell me you cant use it?
There was a dragracer parting out his KZ900 turbo dragbike and i buyed his head from his running 900.
It is GPZ ?? head i need to do some search if not someone see what year and type it is.
I got cams not shure about type but it is more lift than on my Norris turbo cams,,ape cam sprocket
overall it looks good,a homemade cam Chain Tower, copper oilpipe to the head so there is some work to do.
