So i am new to this sight, and i got a lot of good information. But i have a question and i would appreciate the help. I bought a 76' kz750 twin
a little over a year ago. i finally pulled it back out to get into it. the last thing i remember is after it ran the spark plugs would be covered in gas and basically the cylinders if it sat. i fixed it later on, but i found out that the Right cylinder was smoking really bad. i took the exhaust off and the port was covered in oil, and also the cylinder and spark plug had some oil in it. i did research and found from other people that it is a bad valve seal. it seems pretty straight forward judging from the symptoms. But what i really want to know is if there is anything else i should check? anything else that could cause this problem? i have read on a few things, but i figured i would try to get some personal advice.

Thank you!

Valve guide seals. They get hard and leak, foul the plugs and get worse as time goes by.

Very likely a valve guide seal. I have about 80k on my 750 twin and it is on it's third set of seals. They harden up, leak oil and foul plugs. They also build up gunk on the valve seats until the valves don't seal properly. When you pull the head you will see the burned on oil residue from the leakage.

Get the VITON seals when you rebuild the head.
