I believe some of the early J heads had problems wit loose valve guides, but by far the most common problem is ignorant, lazy owners.

There are no specific design problems or flaws even in racing conditions.
Only the usual wear and tear service issues and moron inflicted damage.

"cam cap bolts stripping threads".
These heads have been worked on numerous times by people who are not always experienced.
Bench test all cam cap bolts. Tighten all bolts by hand.
DO NOT use a torque wrench even if it is a Snap On
