New springs are in, old disks are back in, oil is back in the bike.
the actuator has been cleaned, lubed and readjusted. I might be the only person to see the inside of that actuator in 35 years, I think the grease was about 3 weeks away from becoming diamonds..
pushrod was straight and the cable was completely removed from the bike and flushed with wd40 and then lubed with lithium grease forced into the cable using a plastic bag taped on the end.
I can't comment on how the clutch grabs yet but the action is smooth and I didn't notice much of an increase in lever effort.
Now I just need that decent weather that the forecast has promised tomorrow and I'll know for sure
The ebc springs were taller but had a smaller material size or wire diameter .

Wow EBC's are defently taller and have never thought the lever was much harder to pull ...... I've used Barnett's springs for ever and my old ones were sagged .040 over the new .... threw the stock plates and springs away in 84 when I replaced em with Barnett plates too....... what a mistake and waist that was bet the stocker's were just broken in..... went back to oem plates this time..... Will probably replace the springs every 5-7 years. Betting you fixed it... am pulling for ya.

My springs were 40 years old. They don't get heavy use like valve springs. These used 900 springs are like new and the plates perfect. Never has a clutch slip.

Thinkin you'd be surprised if you ever checked their tention and length..... my cam tensioner spring was quite a bit shorter and weaker along with the the oil filter spring too..... true valve springs have a much harder life but heat and use over 40 years has to work on them.

Well, my problems are over at least for the time being.
Just took it out, no slip on upshifts and it pulls harder at the top end so although i didn't notice it must have been slipping there as well.
Now i get to enjoy this warm day, untill something else goes wrong....
Thanks again!

Those EBC springs have almost a full coil less than the stockers, which means they will be a good bit stiffer.
Some guys use three HD aftermarket springs mixed with three stockers. That way you don't have as much hand effort as a full set of aftermarket springs.

These only have 5 springs, so it would not be recommended to mix springs.
