Assuming you used a quality filter that has a fairy thick grommet you don't need to drain and put the washer in, but be sure to put it in on your next oil change. Ed

You should be fine until next oil change. The same thing happened to me and I didn't notice the washer was missing until about 10 oil changes later. I was using (and still use) K&N oil filters too. Ed

What? Ed using an "aftermarket" part on his 650??? :side: Drinking the K&N koolaid are we?;)

For the record, I'm using stock Kawasaki filters on my 750. They are cheaper than a K&N and I don't like wasting money. B)

I would use Kawasaki oil filters, but I wouldn't know where to buy them at a reasonable price; dealers in my area seem to think they are made of solid gold. The K&N oil filters are $5.16 on Amazon with free delivery on orders greater than $35. Where do you get your oil filters, and how much do they cost? Thanks, Ed

$5.16 works for me. I bought a couple filters from either Bike Bandit or Partzilla last time I ordered and they were about $7/each.

Just ordered a WIX filter today $7 at OR. They're a little wider and taller. Been using them for 2 years. No problems.
