After thinking on this, the locator pins are drilled as a set. It might be possible to match halves this way. The outside milled surface should be smooth if they match. I had a guy washing rods for me while I was doing other things. I told him not to mix them up, they are bored as a set. They weren't marked, he walked away with all of them still in a bucket in pieces. I tried to match them by going by the grind marks. I put the engine together thinking I had it right. I fired it up and it sounded like new. It idled then froze up. I should have done it myself but the guy was whining about not having any money. I never made that mistake again.

If you're talking about the ones in the circles, they are casting numbers. The one on the top of mine next to the kick start has no numbers in it. I don't think that will help.

If you have a bore gauge you could use trial and error assembling halves and then checking the crank bearing bores to see if they are round. Once you get a matching pair move to the next set and keep going...

Thanks! Some time numbers in this circle are invisible or hard to read!

They'd have to be. When the tweekers down the street stole my cases, they didn't get the main caps. All they got was aluminum.
