He was just working on the bike. He said the owner didn't want to buy the more expensive pistons so he gave the bike back, got paid for his time and materials, then returned the bike to it's owner. I guess we'll never know how it turned out. :whistle:

Hey Guys, thought i'd bring this thread back as it has some awesome info. I am getting ready to put new OEM rings in my 81 KZ750LTD. I see in my Haynes manual a diagram about the rings. It shows the compression ring at around 3:00 and the second and Oiling rings at around 6;00. The new rings I have there are a total of 5. There is the compression ring, second rings, upper oiling ring, wave ring, then the last bottom oiling ring. Would it be ok to go by installing these like the Wiseco diagram as they have 5 as well, just making sure my ring end gaps are to OEM Spec? I know the rings will move a bit when running. Just want to get some others opinions as the Haynes manual does not really give a good reference on where to clock them. Thanks so much!!

Saved this thread. Use the Wiseco method and you won't go wrong.
