I have this set-up on my bike, and I'd like to eliminate the oil cooler. Does anybody have a picture of the standard part. I assume this isnt the standard part, but maybe I'm wrong. The oil lines aren't exactly elegant.

Thanks for the picture, Steve. Not sure if I'm selling it yet, I just don't like the way that the lines are plumbed, and was looking to neaten it up a bit. I figure swapping to oem part would get it together, and give me time to sort a cleaner solution. The 550's have fittings on the oil pan, I'm still unfamiliar with the big motors, so I don't know if there's a similar setup for these.

I'm going to hard line mine until it gets past the carbs, then go with short hoses. Still working out a bypass system.

That's what I was thinking too. Back and under. Truth is that I probably won't even need it. I probably won't run it that hard, and will always have good oil.

I'm going with 3/8 copper tubing along the two back bone rails tucked in so I can remove the valve cover, then come down between 2-3 carb boots at the air box, then hoses. I can sweat solder or use compression fittings.

I'd keep it if I were you. I can get some for $50. That engine looks like the Z1. Got a keeper there. Roller bearing lower end, a starter you can get to, cam bearings and all the good stuff.
I bought this cooler from one of our members.

I run silver lines which I like better that the black. But the way I run them they are hidden very well. Mine run under the gas tank and then cross in front. From the right side the line is hidden between the 1st and 2nd air box inlet. I ran the right side wrong ,...outside #4 versus between 3 and 4. I'll fix it the next time I take off my air box. In front you can see that I actually cross the lines,...this allows them to run under the tank.
