Sorry can't help you than than I think you really want to press the liners in then bore out, kawasaki tried the bore out then press in method for ease of production and had lots of liner distortion problems resulting in high oil consumption on the GPz1100's.

I'm going 1170 on an 1100 block, standard issue stuff. Going too thin on the liners can create their own problems...

You may need to modify the crankcases for oversize liners. Not sure of the answers but I think I can see what the questions are here.

Don't be too much of a meathead on the 'cubes is everything' mantra, really it is about valve time area imo.

According to the APE website the liners are different for an 14135 and a 1261. Stock KZ1000 liners can be bored to 1105. KA629-1 liners are used from 1135-1200. Liner 3240 is used for 1200-1261. Liner KA773-2 is used for 1325-1428 and Liner KA3500 is used for 1468-1500. So...your new liners should have a larger O.D then your current 1135 so you'll need to bore the cylinder out again. You can measure the bottom of the 1135 sleeve and the new sleeve to be sure.....

Yeah!
My recent overbore to 1075cc with the 10.25:1 pistons was not Earth shattering.
It runs very well and snappy with my 15/35 sprockets.... quite noticeable increase in strong torque from about 3500rpm to 7000rpm.
Top end.... I don't think I feel any real diff and it is still a bit lean on the top end.
But I can also tell the stock KZ1000 cams and those smaller 26mm carbs are holding the 1075cc top end back.
Still.... I'm very happy and the engine feel FRESH and yanks me around quite nicely.
Blows off, rather comically I might add, all my riding buddies, the 75hp Brit Bonny, the big twins including the huge 116cu in HD bike.
The twins are still loud as hell but they stopped trying to impress me weeks and weeks ago after having to watch me blast by them in 2nd 3rd gear and listen to that killer KawZee Yowl at 5000rpm to 8500rpm....... LOL Oh yeah.

A set of drop in cams will give you what you're looking for in the top end. I'd like to go 1200 but that means bigger everything and the bike being down more than a few days. I'd rather spend that money pointing my headlight and going. Other bikes keep away from me as it is.

So all I would have to do is have the 1135 liners bored so my 1261 piston fit? If I could save money that would be great

Ive been told the suzuki sleeves are actually thicker for the 1260 kit,Ive never set the 2 right next to each other to measure though.
The thicker sleeves make it easier to keep a round bore especially with a stock block. ;)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.
