No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI think we can rule out finding one for a 1976 KZ1000 since the first year of that model was 1977. According to the parts diagrams, the same advancer was used on the 1977 - 1980 KZ1000. You can still find new ones on eBay. Ed

All about those small springs! I don't know why say a Business's like Jeff at Z1Enterprise or Z1parts or Doremi do not hook up with a spring manufacturer and produce a minimum order of say 500 -1000 or whatever is required. Every old Kawasaki could use new advance weight springs!
What would you Guy's pay? $25-$50 per set? I would.

Don't take the chance and buy used on eBay. 9 out of 10 are worn out too!
I have modified mine over the years. But it is hard to work with that high tensile strength coiled up little spring bastard stuff!

I'd rather pay 400+ for a modern Dyna system.

Not wrong. Apparently, either part number applies or the parts diagrams are screwed up? If you go to the link below you will see the list of models that use part number 21148-1009 for the advancer. When you get to that link click on "Select Model."

www.powersportswarehouse.com/pages/oemparts#/s/KUS//21148-1009

Here's the list of models that are shown as using part number 21148-1009 for the advancer:

The 76 did not have electronic ignition. The advancer itself may work with the cam switched but they are not the same. There is no 2/3 F mark.

I've been watching it for weeks. I was hoping to buy one new, there was one used that looked good but I missed it. That's OK, I only wanted the springs anyway. It was being sold by Oink and I've found him less than honest. The one I bought would pop up when I typed Z1/KZ 900. It is NOT for these bikes. When I get it I'll compare the two.
Didn't mean to jump the gun on you.
