Now thanks to a buddy of mine who decided to rev it up before shutting it off (knowing that it was open header and shot a flame) has a burnt wiring harness and computer and pretty much everything electrical except the coils. I can get a picture but not for a few days. So by I just need it to run and drive I mean I don't need lights and such because it's going on kart.
Cool...... if you get the Kart going please post some pics and what you had to go through ........ I remember a kart running a 650 BSA motor years ago that ran 13s at 100 MPH if I remember right........ standard size pretty much and shifted real nice .... burn outs and everything at Byron raceway.

May wish to confirm that the ignition at hand is indeed stock with an igniter.
Here's a comparison between the stock ignition with igniter and Dyna-S ignition that doesn't use an igniter.
The Dyna-S also requires higher resistance coils.
The Dyna-S is wired directly to the coils without going through an igniter.
Either ignition could be run as a "dead-loss" system -- in a race, for example -- without any charging system components (i.e., no stator; no rectifier; no voltage regulator), until the battery dies.
Good Fortune!

The 750H diagram for mattylight in the original topic post would be a very close match to the 81 650-CSR as they have the same ignition & charging systems. I did not check to see if there was one specific to the csr, but it would be nearly identical to that 750.

Could use an alligator clip to battery positive terminal so that coils are receiving voltage only when engine is running.
If no kick starter, could add starter motor and its associated wiring.

Most 3 phase regulator/rectifier boxes are interchangeable, or you could run total loss and use a charger on the battery.
Unless burnt to a cinder, test your pick up coils and ignition coils with a meter, the IC box is best tested by running it, you might get away with new block connectors and a one-off stripped down wiring loom.
