Realistically, learning and understanding motorcycle repair is not something you do by watching YouTube videos. it's actually a skill that can take years to develop and fully understand. A stock bike that you have no idea about can be difficult to understand when you first look at it. Getting to know all the parts and functions takes time and hands on effort. If you start making changes to stock, you are pretty much on our own since the factory service manual only covers stock configuration (the airbox is an essential stock component that starts the process of letting air into the carb).

Also this is a vehicle on 2 wheels that should come with a big warning label on the tank that says: "All repairs and maintenance to be serviced by a qualified technician". Otherwise you run the risk of damaging the machine or yourself.

Be careful, and yes there are many people here that can help you. But please educate yourself on your relationship with your bike before getting into modifications and running into problems.

Ok thanks for the input all.

I switched out the plugs and now both cyclinders working and powered up properly. Thankfully an easy fix.

Next step will be trying to optimise the pods, despite understanding from most comments they are not worth having.

Good to know you have both cylinders firing - easy enough to change a spark plug. Ride, and after 100 or 200 miles take the plugs out and look at it. If it's going black, wet, it will most likely foul again and that cylinder will drop. If it happens you will need to start asking yourself what is causing the plug to foul. And be prepared: carry an extra clean plug with you if you go for a long ride, that way you can swap it out on the fly.

The pod mystery. It's really nothing mysterious, except that it's outside the factory spec. If the bike is running good to your liking you are good to go. Otherwise you may be switching the main carb jets until you get it right and that's a matter of trial and trial and mostly error.

In reality there is no significant power gain to using pod filters unless you are tuning the entire engine including compression and spark. On the flip side the pod filters can create an "air intake leak" and offset the balance of what the engine is designed for.

Get your bike running, reliable and enjoy it - regardless of what you have on it!
