Does anyone grit blast their old spark plugs, sharpen and regap, or am I an old fart?

i don't sand blast... Too hard to clean it all out. Plus it never worked very well.
What I do that *does* work and is perfectly safe is hold them over a propane torch until red hot. Burns all the carbon to ash, which is then easily wiped off with a wire brush. Best part is, if you can fit a propane torch in your saddle bag, you can do it on the road.

I found a much easier way. I kept watching eBay until I saw a great deal on ND-W22ES-U spark plugs. I bought a set of 40 of them for $12. The set in the bike today has been in there for more than 12,000 miles and they still work like new. Even if they only lasted 10,000 miles I would have enough plugs to go 100,000 miles for a mere $12. I really like eBay! Ed

Of your two options, I think you are option 2.
Nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect.

I still do. Haven't had to since I redid my valves. I have split fire plugs, NGK and some Bosh platinums to clean up. I use old rubber cap seals to protect the threads. Not too hard to clean out. Safety pin and blow them out.
