But even if they fit correctly, is there anything else to be worried about such as hardness?

KZ 32mm shims have thickness from 2.20 to 3.4.
These **could** work. Maybe, hopefully, pretty please...

I would say the hardness would be the question. The Kawi shims are surface hardened to a very hard value, not sure exactly what Rc value but really hard. If usable, that is a great find. The thinner values are the most needed since most old heads have been "seated" a few times and the valve is deeper in the head.pbmax wrote: These Subaru 32mm shims have thickness from 2.00 to 2.81.

other parts.Thinking I was going to save some money. on my kz 1000 and 900 anyway it was not worth
buying them.Had to get the oem parts the after market parts were crap and had to do the job again.
a lot of time and money wasted.I rather spend a little more on the parts and do the job once.

Do whatever you want, but I expect Subaru parts to be at least as good or better than Kawasaki parts. It's the crappy K:&L aftermarket parts that I worry about.
