Subaru 32mm Valve Shims was created by pbmax
No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI just discovered that the Subaru Impreza and Legacy use 32mm over bucket valve shims. Thickness range from 2.00 to 2.81.

Anyone try these in your KZ750?

Searching Subaru forums, they are supposed to be 32mm.

But even if they fit correctly, is there anything else to be worried about such as hardness?

I wouldn't think so. The shop in town has some 29mm shims for VW. They are much thicker than ours so not usable.

These Subaru 32mm shims have thickness from 2.00 to 2.81.

KZ 32mm shims have thickness from 2.20 to 3.4.

These **could** work. Maybe, hopefully, pretty please...

I would say the hardness would be the question. The Kawi shims are surface hardened to a very hard value, not sure exactly what Rc value but really hard. If usable, that is a great find. The thinner values are the most needed since most old heads have been "seated" a few times and the valve is deeper in the head.

I ordered a Subaru 32mm shim. Pics below comparing 1 Subaru shim to 3 KZ 32mm shims.
My valve cover is back on so I didn't try it my KZ750 B4, but looks like it would work.

I wish you luck with it let us know how it works out.
I would stay with Kawasaki oem parts.

I haven't had any problems with aftermarket shims. If these are factory they should be just as good if not better.

I've had my experiences with after market parts, not shims but
other parts.Thinking I was going to save some money. on my kz 1000 and 900 anyway it was not worth
buying them.Had to get the oem parts the after market parts were crap and had to do the job again.
a lot of time and money wasted.I rather spend a little more on the parts and do the job once.

Do whatever you want, but I expect Subaru parts to be at least as good or better than Kawasaki parts. It's the crappy K:&L aftermarket parts that I worry about.
