Yeah, I feel quite misled about that. If I had known all this stuff was out of stock when I ordered it, I would have gotten it from someone else. As it is, they've been holding onto my money while I have to scrounge for the parts I need from 10 different randos on eBay. I'll say one thing... When people list something on eBay, they definitely have it ready to ship. Funny thing is, half the time the thing on eBay is being sold at a lower list price AND has free shipping and ships promptly. This is stuff sold domestically too, so it's not like the subsidized chinese ePacket shipping is what makes the difference. Honestly I'd love to support Z1E and the like, but they're making it damn hard for me to be a loyal customer.

Not always. I have had ebay people sit on stuff for weeks. I have also been flat ripped off by sellers there and the site doesn't do jack about it. They finally get me a refund and the seller who is committing the fraud is still there selling the same crap.

I have had a lot of business with Z1 over the years and it has been 100% positive but not recently so I can't say about current. But ebay is probably 90% good in general but unpredictable.

More often than not, if you buy on line from Z1E, it will tell you it's out of stock. At least that's the way it was 2 tears ago. Has that changed. I haven't ordered from them by phone because I didn't want to deal with a salesman.

Z1E has 3 levels of out of stock warning:

1. Message when added to cart... Something about "this item is out of stock, but we expect the part to be available soon."
2. Message on part screen: definitely lets you know it's out of stock. There's no way to add one of these items to your cart.
3. No message. Totally looks like an in-stock part. May or may not actually be in stock though (in my case all of the items I ordered were in this category).

It's tricky, though, because in the #1 case, you can't tell by looking at your cart that the item is out of stock. You have to remember that you saw the message when you added it. Lots of other online retailers show an in-cart availability status. Z1E does not.

McMaster Carr has a huge selection of o-rings, and they also describe how to measure them. The oval side o-rings on my GPzs have been replaced with Viton O-Rings. They did not come oval shaped, but fit in the oval recess and seal perfectly. Bought a bag of 25 for about $10,00 I think.

First let me say that that's not the o-ring I'm talking about. O-Rings on the KZ1000P (J motor) are circular in shape, but oval in crosssection, that is to say, if you cut one in half with a razor and looked at the ends head-on, they would not be round like normal "o" rings, but oval.

That being said, the o-ring in your picture actually looks like it has an oval cross-section (and is also shoved into an oval recess). Am I seeing that right? Is the stock of these 2.5mm wide in one dimension and 4mm in the other? What was the mcmaster part number?

& as far as ordering from Z1e, I've always called in my order, & I wouldn't say you're dealing with sales men, but with Helpful Knowledgeble people who will tell you if parts are in stock or when they expect to get them, if they don't have the parts they will steer you in the right direction as to where else you might be able to get them,...that's why I always order by phone, ..I've always had a Great experience dealing with them directly

Right. As far as I can tell (and believe me, I've looked) mcmaster doesn't sell any oval profile o-rings or o-ring stock. They sell square and X, though. Moreover, I can't find ANY source of oval o-rings or stock of any description other than this specific kawasaki part number.

It appears they reconsidered their pricing on these o-rings since your post. They are marked "DOWN" from $10.74 each to a measly $9.67. <sigh>

PLUS 7,99 freight.. for 4 o-rings.

I was going to call Z1 today, but funny thing is.. they don't list a phone number on ANY of the invoices I have here.. OR if you click on "contact us" on their web site, it only comes up with a page requesting ALL your information to send them a message, but STILL no phone number.

I have recently been inundated with 30-40 spam emails a day, since I registered on kzrider. is there any connection? Just curious if anyone else noticed this?
