I am looking for the torque specs for these 7 screws that hold on the transmission cover (clutch rod, shift rod, secondary shaft cover) ( Part Diagram ) for a 1982 KZ550-C3. The factory manual does not have a specific torque spec that I can find, but just a generic one. The bolts are 6mm machine thread, and the manual says these should be between 52 and 69 in-lb. I have them at 60 in-lb but that is just barely snugged up. The last time I installed the cover, I noticed oil leaking from the bottom of the cover, and no amount of tightening would fix it. I have since ordered new bolts and another new gasket, cleaned up the area, blew out the bolt holes, and have installed it again. I will leave it as is and watch for oil dripping, but I would like to know if they should be tightened more.

60 inch pounds should be tight enough. I would not go any tighter because you can strip the threads in the engine - it is aluminum and the screws are steel, so the engine will normally strip out before the screws. Ed
