1916 kz900 cam chain adjustment was created by mitchelldaughtry
Could someone tell me how to set the cam chain tension on a stock kz900? Or just tell me where to position the crank before I loosen up the lock nut and bolt on the automatic tensioner. Thanks

I don't know about the 1916 model, but the procedure for the ones built in the 1970s is clearly described in the factory service manual.

I use to turn the crank over a few times with the kick starter, come to a spot where it won't move back or forth, loosen the lock nut and bolt, hear a click, tighten it back up, start it and listen if the noise goes away.
