Hey folks,

I'm looking for two 2.5mm valve shims for a KZ900 [29mm).

Does anyone have some they're willing to sell?

Thanks!

Mark, call your local Kawasaki, Yamaha or BMW motorcycle dealer. Ask to speak to the shop, not parts. As someone in the shop if they trade shims. You can take in your old shims and they will trade you out for the ones you need. Sometimes they may charge for this, 2 or 3 bucks.
In my case, the guy at the parts counter handled it between me and the shop and he traded me for free. He said they don't use that size on the modern bikes anymore and were even thinking about throwing them in the dumpster. Only had one glitch, the first time he gave me 29.5 mm by mistake (Suzuki shims) instead of 29's. So I would take your digital caliper in with you when picking the up if you decide to go this route.

Of the 45 or so shims I have in hand, ... I have three 250s three 240s and a couple 260s.
However, I had ordered some new shims from Z1 Ent Inc a week and half ago.
Even though there was some kind of delay from their supplier, they arrived last Friday/Sat.
So I'm betting they have new ones in stock and the price was reasonable.

I got my 2.10-2.15-2.25"s from jetsrus but they didn't have a 2.40. Cheaper than other places.
